Maruti Suzuki Ritz crosses 2 lakh unit sales in India

The Maruti Ritz is celebrating yet another milestone today. The country’s largest car-maker, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), today said its premium compact car Ritz has crossed the 200,000 unit’s sales mark within 36 months of its launch. The hatchback is now one of the fastest models to have achieved this feat.

Merely a month ago, the Ritz became the only Indian automobile name to have over 1 million fans on its Facebook page. The brand has now proven that the fan-following is not just limited to a social-networking website.

On the achievement Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Chief GM (Marketing), Maruti Suzuki said, “Launched in 2009, Ritz has indeed played a wonderful inning so far. Ritz owners also, have always appreciated its driving comfort. In current context too, when market is skewed towards diesel, we expect Ritz to gain more volumes in the future as well.”

The Ritz, internationally known as Splash is also preparing for a round of cosmetic upgrades.
