Mahindra Mini Xylo testing continues, Rear Spare wheel cover gets fancier
Mahindra Mini Xylo will be officially launched in India during the Diwali festive season and the company maker is in the final stages of testing.
The Mini Xylo has been caught numerous times in different parts of India. The mini Xylo is expected to be Mahindra maiden entry in the under 4 metre segment and is going to a play very important role to drive volumes. Mahindra has recently clinched the third spot in terms of sales surpassing Tata Motors.
From the pics the Mini Xylo will get a new fancier wheel cover and the design has seen many changes since we first saw the mini SUV testing in India. According to the sources the variant being on test was the top end which was equipped with Alloy wheels, body coloured door handles, rear wiper with washer. Mahindra will certainly adds a lot of gadgetry similar to the XUV500 which will add more value to the compact SUV.
The Mini Xylo will be powered by a 1.5 litre diesel engine which is developed in house. There has also been news of the Renault 1.5 DCi being plonked which also does the duty on the Verito. Mahindra may delay the launch of petrol powered Mini Xylo considering the high prices of petrol and the customers preference of diesel powered vehicles, which has seen a huge surge in the last couple of months. The difference between petrol and diesel prices is almost Rs. 30, so it certainly makes more sense to drive on diesel.
Mahindra stunned the market with the aggressive prices of the XU500 when launched. We could expect a similar kind of pricing strategy for the mini Xylo. Another factor for success will be the mileage.. As most Indians ask: “Kitna Deti Hai….”
