Mahindra to launch facelifted Thar April launch confirmed

Come April and Mahindra will launch a new variant of the Thar.

The Thar has been quite a success ever since launched in India again. It is one aspirational vehicle which ever off road enthusiast wishes to own. Thanks to Mahindra who has considered the customer voice seriously and now plans to launch a upgraded Thar variant equipped with factory fitted AC and a Hardtop.

There is also talk of a slight refresh in terms of anew grille, front fog lamps standard, a new design dashboard and interiors as per a person whom we spoke to a dealership.

The Thar with hardtop will be equipped with a 2.5 CRDe engine which generates 105@3800 RPM Max Power and Max torque of 247 Nm @1800-2000 RPM. The Thar gets Drive-by-wire technology which helps in quicker and controlled throttle response. The Thar gets 9 inch booster with disc brakes in front and drum in rear 4wd high / low ratio for superior all weather and terrain traction.

The Mahindra Thar Concept project – previewed at the 33rd Bologna Motor Show, taking place from December 5th-14th next – is the heart of the Indian manufacturer’s stand. Under its classic look, reminding of the first model produced by Mahindra & Mahindra in 1945 and of the legendary 4×4 which made the history of off-road, Mahindra Thar represents an absolutely new proposal and opens a new segment in the present offroad market.
