Is this the new Ford Figo and the Figo Sedan?

Whilst all of us are expecting Ford to launch the Figo 1.6, it seems Ford is working on another surprise for us. The picture here is of the Ford Fiesta Rocam which is currently on sale in the Brazilian market. The Rocam uses the same platform as the Figo, and is powered by a 1600CC Duratec motor. Speculations are that the Figo is being considered for a facelift next year, and the Rocam is what could be stepping in.  The Rocam looks very similar to the current Ford Figo, and even shares most of the components with it.

The upgrade consists of an all new face for the Figo; the headlamps have been tweaked a little and now look similar to the ones on thenew Fiesta. The radiator grille is more of a rubber strip now and looks great. The front bumper is what upholds the facelift as it gets a new air-dam and a new fog lamp cluster.  The rear remains unchanged, with only a few tweaks on the bumper. Overall, the upgrade is more of a mid-life facelift and just enhances the looks of the cars.

The Ford Figo is one car that has been giving all the other hatchback’s a run for their money, since its launch back in 2010. Thanks to the price it’s available at, it competes with the most basic hatches in the market without compromising on space and features.  A 1.6 Duratec (Petrol) may also get added to the list of engine options once the upgraded Figo is launched.  The current 1200cc motor isn’t very exciting to drive but with the 1.6 Duratec under its hood, it’s sure to become an enthusiast’s favourite.

The Rocam is also available as a sedan in the global market, and we can even expect it to replace the Fiesta Classic. The Classic has been around for quite some time now, and an upgrade should help it increase its lifespan.  However, we won’t be giving you any false hopes on the Fiesta Classic; the upgraded Figo can be expected as early as the Auto Expo next month.
