Bajaj 2 wheeler sales up, 3 lakh mark crossed

Bajaj Auto Ltd. said that its total vehicle sales in March 2012 stood at 335,515 units versus 307,741 units sold in the same month a year earlier. Sales of the company’s motorcycles were up 10% at 300,848 last month while that of three-wheelers rose by 4% at 34,667 units.

Exports of the Pune-based auto giant in March stood at 107,691 units as against 69,884 units in the year-ago period. This translates into a year-on-year growth of a whopping 54%.

The company’s motorcycle sales in FY12 were up 13% at 3,834,405 units, while three-wheeler sales climbed 18% to 515,155 units.

Exports for FY12 jumped 31% to 1,579,824 units.
