Honda to launch 100cc bike, new scooter at 2012 auto expo

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) plans to launch a 100-cc motorcycle to compete with the market leader Hero MotoCorp. The bike will be launched at the 2012 Auto Expo in January and will be priced around Rs. 45,000.

Honda also plans to launch a new scooter which is developed in Japan and will be 100percent localised in India.

Honda which is aiming the top spot is also looking to ramp up its dealership network. At present, it has 1,220 outlets and plans to add another 300 by next fiscal. Currently Honda is the 4^th largest player in India and wants to be a market leader in the next 5 years.
