DSK Motowheels new partner with Hyosung in India

DSK group will now be the official partner for Hyosung motorcycles in India.

DSK Motowheels announced their association with Korean giants S&T Motors, who will partner DSK Motowheels  for assembling, marketing and selling ‘Hyosung’ Superbikes . With this tieup DSK Motowheels replaces Garware Motors Limited as the exclusive distributors of ‘Hyosung’ Motorcycles in India. This new venture would be named as ‘DSK Hyosung’.

With this tie up DSK Motowheels would be taking over the manufacturing facility of Garware Motors Ltd in Wai. All 18 dealerships of Garware Motors Limited will also be transferred to DSK Motowheels.

DSK Group. Hyosung’s new partner is already operating in the automotive business with Toyota dealerships, and now aims at making it big in the ever-growing Indian two-wheeler market.

DSK Motowheels will expand its pan-India network from its existing 18 dealers to 35 by March 2013. The next big launch for the newly formed company is the launch of the new GT 250R.

Speaking of Future plans Mr. Kulkarni outlined that DSK Motowheels has plans for setting a full fledged plant very near to Pune in near future. He also added that DSK Motowheels along with S&T Motors have immediate & aggressive plans for localization to bring down costs and make superbikes more affordable in India.

DSK group is not new to the automotive Industry in India. The Pune based group , has 7 Toyota car dealerships  and  are dealers of Hino commercial vehicle across Maharashtra . “We are present in customer facing businesses; we understand customers and have experience handling them. Hence, we have decided to enter the manufacturing area since we have expertise in the front end, the sales, marketing and after sales,” Mr Kulkarni said.
