9th JK Tyre-National Rotax Max Karting Championship 2012 in Hyderabad
The JK Tyre-MMS Kartainment Track in Hyderabad will play host to the season opener of the much awaited JK Tyre Rotax Max National Karting Championship 2012. Round 1 of the championship is scheduled from June 8-10, 2012. The championship in its 9th successful successive year will witness some nail-biting action from contenders from across the country battling it out for the coveted title.
Over 50 seasoned and new drivers will be seen in action across different categories in this action packed weekend. The Championship consisting of 5 rounds will run on the country’s finest karting tracks located in Hyderabad, Coimbatore and Baroda. Young motorsport enthusiasts divided in three categories –Micro Max, Junior Max and Senior Max will be representing four professional teams – Team Rayo Racing, Team Mohites Racing, Team Maini Racing and Team Meco Racing.
The qualifying races are scheduled on Saturday followed by the pre-finals and finals planned for Sunday. The winners of the Junior and Senior Max category will get a lifetime opportunity to participate and represent India in the World Karting Finals scheduled in Portugal in November this year.
JK Tyre has always worked towards taking motorsports to the grassroot level and making it affordable. Keeping this in mind, this year young talents who have a determination and zeal to make it big in the motorsport circuit but have budget constraints can participate in the four stroke class which will run as a support race to the championship. The winner of this race will get a fully sponsored drive in the JK Tyre- MMS Rotax Rookie Cup 2013, a gateway to the JK Tyre National Karting Championship.

All this combined together will expose young motorsport enthusiasts to international standard of karting.”
“This year we are bringing back the four stroke kart in the championship, which I’m sure will unearth many fresh talents who have the drive in them to make it big in the sport but have limited budgets. We have always promoted budding talents and this is our yet another step in that direction,” he further added.
The JK Tyre Rotax Max National Karting Championship has evolved over the years and has become much stronger and at par with international kart racing. It indeed is the breeding ground for young karters to prepare themselves for international level of racing.
Armaan Ebrahim-raced in Formula BMW, A1 GP, Renault V6, GP2, Formula2 and Indy Lites, Rayomand Banajee-raced in Formula BMW and is currently the team owner of Rayo Racing, the championship winning team of the JK Tyre Rotax Rookie Cup 2012, Aditya Patel-racing for Audi and recently won the 24 hours of Nurburgring, Vishnu Prasad-champion of VW Polo R Cup 20122, Raj Bharath-the only Indian driver at the inaugural season of the JK Racing Asia Series, Parth Ghorpade-will race at the Formula Pilota this year, have all been champions of the JK Tyre National Karting Championship who are making a mark for them internationally. Arjun Maini, Tarun Reddy and Jehan Daruvala who have been the reigning champions have been chosen by the Sahara Force India F1
team and are currently undergoing a Force India Junior Driver Development programme which will provide them with the necessary skills that is required to be a F1 driver.
The championship brought into being the concept of team culture which helps participants to hone their skills and undergo an overall training programme in a professional environment which is crucial for driver development.
JK Tyre is credited with introducing the concept of Karting in India and has patronized Karting circuits in seven cities of the country. JK Tyre together with MECO Motorsports introduced the professional level of karting in 2004 with the introduction of the Rotax 2 Stroke Kart Engines.
