Skoda Superb to get a facelift, spy pic leaked
Skoda may give its flagship Superb sedan a mild facelift to keep the sales momentum going. The Superb will receive minor sheet-metal changes up front, the headlights get more angular and the bumpers are re-profiled. The grille appears bigger and more angular, and resembles the one on Skoda’s MissionL concept.
In profile, the styling remains mostly the same, but the new Superb could use a new alloy wheel design. The bigger update is to the rear end, where the tail-lamps are all-new and much sharper. They now look more in line with current-generation VW and Audi models, and could also contain LED elements.
The Superb currently is available in two engine options: 1.8 litre Turbocharged petrol engine and 2.0 Turbocharged diesel engine. The company has discontinued the 3.6 petrol due to Luke warm response. Transmission options include a Manual 6-speed and Automatic 7-speed, DSG, with Tiptronic manual gear changing on the petrol while the diesel gets Automatic 6-speed, DSG, with Tiptronic manual gear changing.
The Superb currently has been segment leaders thanks to price and huge equipment list. The car is available in two trims Ambition and Elegance.
