Skoda plans to launch new SUV Snowman and Yeti

From Bentley to Mahindra all are betting on the SUV segment. Be it in the high end segment or the new mini SUV segment, car makers are lining up new models which gives one the feel of an SUV but sips in fuel like a hatchback. Seems like most car makers are planning new models in the SUV segment which is currently being the most favoured.

Skoda which had got good success with the Yeti SUV is now planning to go big. The company is planning to launch a new SUV christened as the Snowman atleast for now and new look Yeti which will get the new design theme. The larger SUV is based on VW’s Tiguan. The VW Tiguan is due to come on stream in 2014 – in three different forms: standard wheelbase, extended wheelbase and four-door coupe. The Tiguan and the Snowman will be a part of the MQB platform. The SUV could also bear the name Grand Yeti.

Skoda will also give the Yeti a all new look again following the new design theme. The all new Yeti which will be launched in 2016 will be based on the MQB platform.
