New Touareg launch soon, details emerge

Volkswagen India will launch the all new Touareg in India. The German car maker unveiled the all new Touareg at the 2012 Auto Expo. The SUV gets 2967cc, 6-cylinder diesel engine which has a power output 236bhp at 4000rpm and whooping 550NM of Torque. The engine is mated to 8-speed tiptronic box.

The new Touareg now gets the VW family look with squarish headlights and LED daytime running lights. Touareg is also longer and wider than the older car with more interior room. The SUV also shares its platform with the new Porsche Cayenne.

In terms of safety the Touareg is equipped with ABS, ESP, ASR, EDL, hill start assist, hill descent assist and lots more.

There were discussions of the new Touareg being assembled in the Indian market however this seems unlikely and the company will launch the Touareg as a CBU.
