Official: VW launch Das WeltAuto

Volkswagen Europe’s leading car manufacturer today announced the introduction of its pre-owned car business – Das WeltAuto into India.

Volkswagen will commence the first phase of its operations in the first half of 2012.

With 101 dealerships already in place across 82 towns and cities, ever increasing popularity of its carlines especially the Polo and the Vento, Volkswagen aims to further enhance new car sales and increase re-sale value of its existing carlines by introducing Das WeltAuto. into the Indian market.

Commenting on the occasion Mr. Neeraj Garg, Member of Board and Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said “With a healthy customer base and a strong network established in the market over the last couple of years it has encouraged us to bring in our global pre-owned car business into the country. We are confident that Das WeltAuto. will chart out its own success story in this market very soon.”

Volkswagen closed the year on a very positive note with 78,408 units sold indicating 140% growth over last year, increasing of dealer network from 70 to 101 and a strong brand awareness.
