Renault duster caught testing in India
Renault India’s new Duster SUV was caught testing in India. The Duster SUV will be the next model after the Pulse small which is going to makes it debut at the 2012 Auto Expo.
Thanks to our friends at Motorbeam, Ramakrishna who spotted the Duster with heavy camouflage in Chennai. Renualt which made its re-entry in India with the Fluence and Koleos now want to take on the mini SUV segment which has shown some tremendous growth.
The Renault Duster will be powered a set of petrol and diesel engines. The all new 1.6-litre petrol unit will produce 106 PS of power. The good reliable 1.5-liter K9K motor diesel will power the Duster.
The dCi motor will be available in two set of tunes, one producing 91 PS of power, while the other producing 108 PS of peak power at 4000 RPM and 240 Nm of peak torque at 2000 RPM. The lower tuned diesel engine is very economical with a fuel efficiency of 20 kmpl.
The Duster will be equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Renault has tuned the suspension and air-conditioning for India market. Renault may price the Duster SUV between Rs. 8-10 lakhs, when it goes on sale in the middle of 2012.
Renault may also offer the Duster with a 4×4 variant in near future.
