Honda City facelift caught testing
Honda seems to be fighting the battle to gain a strong foothold in India. The company saw its sales tumble when petrol prices shot up as more people favoured petrol cars over diesel. However Honda was clever enough to counter this with some big discounts on the Jazz and City.
Sales of City recovered and Honda shot another arrow, this time a facelifted Jazz at a cut price. Result saw the Jazz now has a waiting period of over 2 months.
Honda is all set to launch the Brio soon and is also making room slowly for the facelifted City.
Autocar India was quick to spot the facelifted City being tested. The facelift gets re-profiled front and rear bumpers, a mildly restyled grille (with chrome leading edges as on the Accord), re-designed tail-lamps, a new set of alloy wheels and re-styled side-view mirrors too.
The top end V model may also sport a sun roof. The interiors too make get a make over with no changes under the hood. Hope Honda continues the same prices for the new City which is expected to be launched close to Diwali.
