Toyota Etios caught testing in Brazil
The Etios sedan is all set to drive on the Brazil streets in 2012. Toyota’s Indian car will find its way in markets like Indonesia and Brazil.
The Etios is a well built car and has been developed mainly for the emerging markets like India, south East Asia and Brazil. The Etios may also sometime find its way into the Chinese market but may be with a different tag name altogether.
The Etios is currently undergoing testing in Brazil and could very well get a powerplant which could be run on Ethanol, as many run on this fuel largely.
The Etios is Toyota’s main focus for the year 2012. Confidence in the model is so great that the automaker was willing to build a new plant in Sorocaba (SP), only to produce it in the country.
However, little is known about the timing of the launch of the car in Brazil but an unveiling could possibly happen at the Brazil auto show later this year. The inauguration of the plant and the arrival of the model is expected in the second half of this year, may be postponed to the beginning of 2013.
Toyota launched the 2012 upgraded models in India at the Auto Expo. The cars now get improved NVH level and darker shades of Grey for the interiors.
Brazil too may get the upgraded cars and possibly the same engines. The Etios in Brazil will compete with likes of Renault Logan, Nissan Versa and Chevrolet Cobalt in Brazil. If the Etios does makes a sales success the Liva too could follow soon.
