TVS Victor to ride Indian roads soon
TVS is gearing to launch the popular Victor brand in the Indian market. In a bid to improve its market share, the Company plans to re-introduce its Victor by December this year.
Under the Victor brand, TVS sold motorcycles in the 110-125cc. The Victor GX, GL when launched were equipped with a Dura life, 4-Stroke Air-Cooled OHC, 109.3cc engine. The motorcycle produced 9 kW (8.1 bhp) @ 7250 rpm and 8.1 Nm Max torque @ 5500 rpm.
The new Victor will get the same engine which is strapped on the Jive 110. The Automatic transmission may make it on the Victor. TVS may also use the twin-spark combination with 125cc engine from the Flame to power the 125cc variant of Victor.
TVS is facing the heat from other two-wheeler manufacturers like Honda and Yamaha. In December TVS slipped to the fourth position overtaken by Honda motorcycle scooter India. Total two wheeler sales stood at 167,905 units in December 2011 in comparison with 168,359 units recorded in December 2010.
Honda has unveiled a plethora of launches for the Indian market and also announced it entry in the Splendor category with the launch of Dream Yuga. TVS will also have to fight the battle with Yamaha & Suzuki which have also announced new investments and new models for the Indian market.
