Honda to launch CIVIC facelift in 2013

The civic has been one of the most respected and sort after cars made by the Japenese giants. The Civic variants in the Indian markets were extremely popular and became a trend pretty fast! Honda has now advanced the facelifted Civic internationally.

The new Civic was launched a few months back and did not get very positive feedback from customers. The main reasons for the dislike were attributed to the cheap and hard plastic instrument panel and center console. Consumer Reports removed the Civic from its “recommended” list for the first time in memory, calling it “cheap” and “insubstantial.” A recent Wall Street Journal review called it “a betrayal.”

“We take feedback seriously, regardless of who it’s from, and we will act accordingly quickly. I don’t know how much we can do, and how quickly. But the comments of Consumer Reports and our customers have not gone unnoticed. We are appropriately energized,” John Mendel, executive VP, American Honda, said.

Honda has taken the feedback very seriously and is planning to work on a quick mid-life facelift, which is expected by 2013. The facelifted version could possibly make it to India, if Honda does plan to launch the new Civic in India.

The Indian market was expecting the Civic in 2012 but with critics against the car, Honda may launch the new facelifted car in India.
