BMW launches a new variant of the 5 Series, 520i
BMW has introduced an all new model of the 5 Series. The new 520i will replace the entry model 523i in the Indian market. The new 520i will most probably share the engine with the new 3-Series. The 1,997cc engine produces a max power of 135 (184) kW (hp) / 5,000-6,250 rpm and a healthy torque of 270 Nm @ 1,250-4,500 rpm.
The new model will help the company bring its prices further down and will be priced around the Rs. 40 lakh mark. We feel BMW should get the price even lower if they are serious about volumes for the same.
The 5 Series is locally made in the Indian market alongside with 3 Series, X1 and X3. In future the X5 and 7 Series could also join the parade.
