Tata has launched the Sumo Gold in India with enhanced features. Seems like Tata is concentrating improving the quality of the vehicles and there launching refreshed variants of the same.
Tata gave the Vista a facelift, followed by the new positioning for the Grande and now with Sumo Gold Tata is certainly pushing it self hard to improve its sales which has seen a big drop in the last few months.
The new Tata Sumo Gold is being launched in 4 variants – GX, EX, LX & CX – along with a warranty of 3 years or 1,00,000 kms. The Tata Sumo Gold range will be available from Rs. 5.23 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Pune).

Tata Motors, launched the all new Tata Sumo Gold, the most powerful SUV in its category, which will redefine the market with its sheer power & reliability.
The Tata Sumo Gold has been conceived and designed keeping in mind the needs of the young & progressive customer, who is looking for a stylish, new-age vehicle that is powerful and takes on any terrain with ease.
Launching the Tata Sumo Gold, Mr. R. Ramakrishnan, Vice President, Commercial – PCBU, Tata Motors said, “The Tata Sumo Gold is a result of extensive consumer studies and field tests. The product has been designed to fulfil various requirements, long-awaited by the new generation customer.”
At the heart of every Tata Sumo Gold, lies a growling engine that thumps out vicious power. The Tata Sumo Gold goes a step ahead in putting the reins of power in the customer’s hands, by letting him choose from two powerhouses, that suits his driving experience, delivering the best-in-class acceleration, power and an excellent torque aided pick-up & pull power.
CR4 Turbo – BS4: Symbolising a new elevated state of automobile engineering, the all-new CR4 Turbo engine brings fresh blood to a lineage of powerful engines. This 2956cc determined powerhouse delivers an output of 85Ps @ 3000rpm and a torque of 250Nm @ 1000 to 2000rpm. With a stunning mileage of 14.7 kmpl, this engine is one giant leap ahead of the rest, in its league.
Di Turbo BS3: Bringing years of know-how to a lineage of power is the Di Turbo engine. This 2956cc engine is all-muscle, generating an output of 70PS @ 3000rpm and a torque of 225Nm @ 1600 to 2000rpm. Its sheer size and heft makes the Di Turbo the largest sized diesel engine. This engine delivers an impressive mileage of 14.3kmpl.
The Tata Sumo Gold has an imposing poise, broad stable stance and a visual blitzkrieg of stylish body graphics. A new headlight design works in tandem with a prominent tail lamp cluster, high power forward and rear fog lamps, to light up the path.
A renewed front grill, wide rear with a clean back and a spare wheel below the cabin, add not only to its dominant presence but also to its functionality.
